Applauding Industry Dedication

Our large attendance at the August Luncheon meeting can be largely attributed to Dan Dyce, CPCU, RPA and Earthquake Response Manager with the California Earthquake Authority. We were pleased to have him as our speaker!

It was wonderful to see new faces – as the topic “How to prepare for the Next BIG ONE” drew adjusters – both carrier and independent – as first time attendees! We at East Bay Claims welcome you and look forward to seeing you again at our future luncheon meetings! A ‘big’ thank you to Dan Dyce for his very excellent presentation!

East Bay Claims Association also welcomed Chad Taylor, high school student at Heritage High School in Brentwood and Boy Scout currently working on his Eagle Scout Project – raising funds for the Bay Area Crisis Nursery in Concord (which also happens to be EBCA’s designated charity). Chad relayed to the membership the details of his Eagle Scout Project with regard to the Bay Area Crisis Nursery. During the luncheon, Chad passed around a basket for donations toward his project and raised more than half of the funds necessary for the project. Great job, Chad! Keep us posted on your Eagle Scout Project and the final outcome! Thank you East Bay Claims Association members for supporting Chad in such a worthwhile endeavor!

Our October 13th Luncheon meeting should be very interesting. Phaidra Garcia and David McDowell, Attorneys with McDowell, Shaw & Colman, will be addressing our membership on “Current Trends & Case Law Regarding SIU and Casualty Claims”. Mark this meeting on your calendar now and save that date! Our October meeting will also include a report from the Chair of our Nominating Committee – Ray Depa, with Crawford & Company, regarding the proposed Slate of Officers for the 2011 Term.

November 10th will be our Election of Officers for 2011 and our Annual Holiday Party & Casino Night Event will be Friday evening, December 3rd! Read your newsletter for additional information on these events!
