From SCHIP to Golf - EBCA Springs Forward

April message from
2009 EBCA President
Ray Depa

I want to thank JoAnn Dean for wearing multiple hats last month. (EBCA VP) Steve Muir and I had conflicts at the last moment. Judging by the emails that we received, neither of us were missed. JoAnn dedicates a lot of time to this Association and we are extremely fortunate to have her .

Kim Tamayo, with a big assist from Bryan Harrison, has transferred all the money from PayPal to the Association’s bank account. This has not be an easy task. I understand that she may have even lost her ever present smile for a second or two as she maneuvered her way through this maze. Never lose your treasurer as they know everything. Thank you, Kim, for all your perseverance on this issue. We are still addressing our Non Profit Status but let’s take time to celebrate this victory.

Kelly Sullivan has an intriguing program lined up this month. Jim Price and Roy Franco will be here to speak to us about the new SCHIP laws that are scheduled to go into effect on 7/01/09, and how they can effect you. They will present their program and be available during the meeting and afterwards to answer specific questions. These laws do have teeth as a fine for noncompliance could total a $1,000.00 a day.

Tom Mazza has joined your Board Of Directors .He is already at work on your behalf and we are happy to have him back.

The Golf Tournament is approaching. Please watch for additional information. I see where it is in American Canyon. This might be one of those times you may want to consider spending a night after a long day of playing golf and drinking all that ice water. The police in that city are active and encourage over night stay at one of their facilities. Sometimes they can be rather insistent.Rather than encounter one of them, consider an overnight stay at a location of your choice.

We appreciate your attendance ay our monthly meetings.
The Board of Directors will have their quarterly meeting following the April meeting.
