Call for 2009 Leaders!
October message from
2008 EBCA President
Kelly Sullivan
It was great seeing everyone back at Zio Fraedo’s last month! Al Wenzell did such a good job at enlightening us on what to expect from a mediator and at mediation.
Please keep in mind that we still need Officers and Board members for next year. Ray Depa has volunteered to take on the role of President but anyone else interested, please come forward. The positions are typically filled by way of Association member voting. We have the Vice President position open and so far, JoAnn Dean has volunteered for the position of Secretary and Kim Tamayo has agreed to continue as Treasurer, if there is no other interest. There are also plenty of seats open on the Board, so do not hesitate to let me know if you are interested in helping out.
We moved our wine tasting event to November due to some challenges with the restaurant venue. Remember, in November, the lunch will be moved to Friday, (November 14th) and we will be meeting at The Oasis in Pleasanton. Details will be on the website and in our newsletters. We will leave from The Oasis via Limo Bus for an afternoon of wine tasting in the Livermore Valley. This event will be a lot of fun and a nice chance to enjoy a Friday afternoon together. I hope many of you can attend!
We are also working on our Christmas party, which will be a fantastic event! Mark your calendar for December 5th. The party will be at Zio Fraedo’s but Tony has promised us a night of transformation that will take us away from the standard room we are used to for our lunch meetings. Cocktail hour will be from 6pm to 7pm and dinner will be at 7:00. There will be gaming, music, prizes and lots of entertainment. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Remember, the theme is Roaring 20’s!!! Dress in costume or come as you are but be prepared for a night of fun and celebration! The cost is $40 for Members and their guests and $50 for non members. We are inviting our fellow Associations and their cost will be $40 as well. We will have a charity drive for the Bay Area Crisis Nursery and Joann Deanne will have more details on this at our next meeting.
The Summer months have flown by and we are heading into the cold and rainy season. Please continue to take good care of yourselves and each other. I appreciate the enthusiasm and participation of all our EBCA Members throughout the year. The Winter months can be dreary and sometimes just seeing your familiar faces once a month can do wonders to raise my spirits. Thank you for all that you do!
I will be out of town on business for our October meeting but Ray Depa will run things in my absence and I am confident you will be in good hands.
See ya in November!
Warmest Regards,
Kelly Sullivan
