Catorce de Mayo for EBCA at La Tapatia in Concord!
May message from
2008 EBCA President
Kelly Sullivan
Well, the EBCA does know how to get the most out of cause for celebration! In March, we extended St. Patrick’s Day with our Happy Hour/Mixer and, in May, we will be having a belated Cinco De Mayo lunch for our monthly meeting. Grab your sombrero and join us at La Tapatia in Concord on May 14th. We’ve got Irene Takahashi speaking to us on Suspicious and Fraudulent Claims and, as Chris Caples promised, there will be churros for everyone!
On the subject of speakers, didn’t our Harry Maurer do a great job in April?!
The year is flying by. It’s hard to believe that we are getting close to the events that take us away from our monthly lunches; the CCNC being one of them. Don’t forget that this year it’s in July; the 24th-the 25th at the Sacramento Hyatt Regency. You can now register by credit card their web site!
Kim McFarlane and Lisa Schwichtenberg are working on our upcoming JUNE client outing, which we have moved to the LIVERMORE wine country (as opposed to Napa) in the hopes of generating interest with an easy geographic. More details at our next meeting!
The word of the month was “Hokey Pokey” and though many of you thought it was a dance, it is actually a form of substandard ice cream. Congratulations AGAIN to Tim Kirk for being the first one to get the definition. Remember, a $5.00 Starbucks card goes to the first three to get the answer correct!
They say the temperatures are going to hit the 80’s again this weekend and I am looking forward to some hiking and some down time. I hope you all are able to continue to maintain your lives in balance and take the time out for yourself that you need during stressful times. Our May lunch will be another chance for us all to learn, socialize and have a little fun too. Looking forward to seeing you!
