Pinch-Hitters Coming Through - Help Drive Up Our Membership! March message from 2008 EBCA President Kelly Sullivan Well, so far our year has started out with two different speakers pinch-hitting and they have both done a fabulous job! Carlos Poza wowed us with his extensive knowledge of Construction Defect litigation, and handled the room sans microphone during a February lunch meeting like a champ! Things can only get better, so join us March 11th and see who we have! Our last meeting had a turnout of almost 80 people!!! This kind of support is appreciated more than you know and can only add to the strength of our Association. If you have any ideas/suggestions for events or new ways of doing things this year, please let me know any time. Our word of the month was “foofaraw.” Congratulations to Tim Kirk AGAIN for getting the definition right. I am holding off from telling you the definition because I’ve got two more Starbuck’s cards waiting for the next person(s) who can get me the right definition. Give me a call if you’ve got it! As I write this, the rains are back and I’ve got the cold and flu to go with them. Remember to take care of yourself; keep your life in balance-vitamins, rest, some fun in the midst of your hectic workweek-and if the EBCA can do that for you-even better! We’ll be doing a wee bit of pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebrating at Masse’s in Walnut Creek on March 13th starting at 6p.m. Come join us for happy hour drinks and appetizers. Kim Tamayo with Restoration Management and Tom McGyver with CRDN have some fun things in store for us, including a prize to the Member that brings the most adjusters. Please come out and bring a friend (even if they aren’t an adjuster)! The golf tournament plans are moving along, and the always-industrious Kim MacFarlane, with P.W. Stephens, is working on our wine tasting event in Napa-more big plans are in store for the year so be prepared for some good fellowship and learning in the future. In closing, I’d like to invite you all to do what you can to drive up our membership and adjuster participation. It's our privilege to include an invitation to the Property Claims of The Pacific folks to join us at any and all events, and I’ve got some ideas of my own about calling on some carriers in the area in person to invite them out and could use your help.
