Great Start to a Growing Year for EBCA
February message from
2007 EBCA President
Karen Cowan
What a superb turnout for our first luncheon of 2007! There were many new faces as well as the renewal of old friendships, including past presidents of EBCA. In total, we accommodated 59 people, of which 32 percent were insurance personnel.
Special thanks to our keynote speaker, Kevin Rainbolt, of AIG, for his wonderful presentation on insurance fraud, which generated lively discussion and numerous questions.
As your newly elected president, it is my personal goal to grow the association this year. If the show of support at our January luncheon is any indication of the year ahead, my goal will be 100 percent fulfilled.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Ray Depa, (for his assistance with the raffle gifts), Lisa Schwichtenberg, Ken Ridings and Patricia de Rouen, (our hospitality committee), Justine Bone and Kim Tamayo, (for overseeing 32 new membership sign-ups), Carol Valenzuela, secretary, and Phil Hughes, treasurer, for their steadfast commitment to their duties; my AWESOME vice president, Kelly Sullivan, and to the 19 various service providers who so generously donated raffle gifts. Thanks to all for making our January luncheon so incredible.
Please mark your calendar to join us for our February 14th luncheon when Tom Shefchick promises to captivate the association with an “electrifying” presentation. To accommodate the growing number of attendees at the luncheons, please submit your reservations to Carol Valenzuela at carolv@protechabatement.com .
In celebration of Valentine’s Day for our February 14th luncheon at the Radisson Hotel in Dublin, we will have a few special surprises for all in attendance. Additionally, we will be distributing a special gift to all who have purchased a 2007 membership. If you have yet to renew your membership for 2007, please complete an application and either mail it in with your payment, or bring it to the meeting. Also, please remember, check-in and networking begin at 11:30 a.m. for all luncheons. We hope to see you all at the February luncheon.
Sincerely,
Karen Cowan
