Considering the recent heavy storms, turnout for the January 2008 East Bay Claims Association luncheon of just over 50 people was very respectable.

The East Bay Claims Association managed to kick off the new year with a most successful luncheon meeting. Despite the craziness of an industry responding to massive claims following the harsh winter storms, as well as dealing with a scheduled speaker who justifiably couldn’t be there, the organization pulled it off in grand fashion.

Pinch-hitting for Sam Phillips was guest speaker Paul Kayfetz, of Paul Kayfetz, Inc. Mr. Kayfetz gave a dramatic largely visual presentation on the use of video simulation and computer animation in accident reconstruction and property damage loss cases.

The crowd of just over 50 - significantly down from attendance of late, due to storm response, was enthralled with the video illustrations. Mr. Kayfetz gave a glimpse into how these simulations are made, and showed various alternate perspectives of some accident scenes - some times even simultaneous side-view, aerial view and driver’s view on sub-screens.

The dramatic simulations, as well as demonstrated computer recreations, made clear how he is able to get his work admitted into evidence with extreme regularity. To see some, to: www.paulkayfetz.com.
